Greyhound Adoption Expo

This last weekend was the big yearly New England Greyhound Adoption Expo. It was a lot of fun.
On Saturday there was a lecture by Dr. Couto, an amazing vet who specializes in cancer and bloodwork in greyhounds. It was very educational, I learned a lot.
On Sunday we got to go to Seabrook, which is where Melody retired from. I think she remembered it, she was very excited and hyped up.
She got to go on the podium where they do health inspections before the races.
She saw the track where she raced.
And she was so exhausted she fell fast asleep in her fancy new collar that she got on Saturday.

Cute pics and one new pet

I caught this cute picture of my new show trio- Pumpkin the red fox, Tulip the nutmeg, and Plush the lilac. Obviously they are very close.

And my newest pet, a very handsome leopard gecko named Coconut.
And one more cute picture of Clarissa, because she is so amazing.

Naked Hamster

Okay, so I obviously have a thing for hairless animals. I don't know what it is, they are just so cool! I went to a pet store today to pick up some cat food, and walked out with my very first hairless hamster. I think her name will be Clarissa. She is about 6 weeks old.

Gerbil Show

This week has been to busy to post, but last Saturday was the big annual New England AGS Gerbil Show! I showed four gerbils- Eclair the Siamese, Sunburn the argente, George the agouti, and Ansel the black mottled. Eclair didn't place at all, he is a beautiful gerbil, but even though he's been handled frequently his whole life he is somewhat nippy. I can't seem to fix it and it pretty much means he won't place. Sunburn placed third in his class, bringing him up to 6 show points, two more and he'll be my first champion! George placed third in his class, and Ansel placed second. Also two people showed pups they had just gotten from me, and they placed second and third in the pup class, so I felt pretty good about that.
I brought Elvis the rabbit, and he was a big hit, even though he was shedding like crazy that day. Also, I got a very cute colorpoint slate male pup from Moonstone Gerbils, he is very sweet and good looking.
All in all it was a fun day and I look forward to the next show!
